"If the people of a church don't attend in the absence of the pastor, it is not a church, but a fan club."

Measure of Church Health
"A church's health is measured by its sending capacity, not [its] seating capacity: How many [are] mobilized for our Mission? Matt. 28:19-20."

The Church Must Rise
“The answer to today’s sin and misery is not ‘a church must rise.’ It is ‘the Church’ must rise. The Church Universal, composed of all believers, all who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, must rise, get hold of God, put on the whole armor of God, and batter the gates of hell.”

The Thrill of Worship
“The thrill of gathering for worship consists in the fact that we are people excitedly lining the road along which any moment Christ is going to come.”

Jim Cymbala
“It’s tragic when God speaks and no one listens. That’s what happened to Amaziah [2 Chronicles 25]. That’s what happens to pastors who run churches by computers instead of hearing from the Holy Spirit. That’s what happens when we read church growth journals instead of seeking the Lord.”

The Biggest Threat Facing the Church
(The following quote is in response to the question "What is the biggest threat facing the church today?")
"It’s going with the world rather than challenging the world, and so representing Christianity as if it’s a call to be the nicest people we can be in accepting the rules and expectations of our culture. But the truth is that Christians are not called to be 'nice' people in that way; we’re called to be obedient people and God’s rules challenge the whole system of our culture, which is drifting away from God very fast."
J.I. Packer

Paul and Barnabus in Cyprus
"Paul and Barnabas didn't appear to have a five-year or even a one-year
plan. They got on the boat, and the wind of the Spirit, a supernatural and a
physical wind, blew them to Cyprus. Because Paul and Barnabas obeyed the
Spirit of God, the Church today is profiting 20 centuries later from those
churches that were launched."

God and One More
"God and one more constitute a majority; teams accomplish more than individuals alone; the local church is the hope of the world; and people can change their behavior by changing what they know."
